Bishnu Gurung
Electrician
Bishnu Gurung is an electrician. He installs wiring systems, configures appliances, and repairs electrical faults works across the Patan district of Kathmandu. On any given day, he will have to make a series of trips out to various job locations. Bishnu uses his Portal Bicycle to make these journeys with speed and efficiency, and to carry any necessary tools and equipment with ease.
THE PORTAL BICYCLE IS QUITE EYE-CATCHING. BISHNU CONTACTED PORTAL AFTER HE SAW HIS NEIGHBOR USING A CARGO BIKE TO CARRY GOODS FOR HIS TEA AND MOMO SHOP.
The Gurung family also use their Portal Bicycle to complete daily tasks, such as transporting heavy water tanks and gas canisters from the store home.
For longer journeys to work across the city, Bishnu does own a motorcycle. However, he much prefers using his Portal Bicycle for jobs nearby. He finds the bicycle to be a good form of exercise, an easy way to navigate the busy city traffic, and a cheaper alternative to the high cost of gas needed to run the motorbike.

Before owning a cargo bike Bishnu did own a simple town bicycle. Aside from finding the Portal Bicycle much better adapted to carrying larger and heavier loads, he finds his new bike much more comfortable with a soft ride and smooth gear transitions.
